We’ve seen about a hundred inventions that all guarantee to be the end all be all when it comes to retrieving a stuck vehicle out of a snowy situation and this time, we check out what is perhaps the simplest. Instead of all kinds of bulky equipment, this method claims to be able to get you out of a pinch using nothing more than a couple of custom zip ties that are fitted with tire studs to enable traction. However, if you decide that this is the right equipment for you, you also might want to be careful when using them because they might not exactly be legal for one reason or another.
You can watch the “Zipgripgo” in action as it gets installed in just a few minutes and shows a car grabbing traction in a snap and muscling its way out of a slushy nightmare. It’s designed to be a simple replacement for tire chains that can also be a lot cheaper but if you’re caught out on the roads in this California county, you might just get pulled over and slapped with a hefty fine. It’s not really clear why this is the law that’s in place, but I guess that you’d better be safe than sorry when it comes to fitting your car with them.
Check out the video below that shows the innovation in action. Would you spend your money on these things? Better yet, would you rely on them if you’re really stuck? It’s really a risk if it’s against the law but the savings that you see on these things in both money and the time that it takes them to get installed might just be worth it. Legal in certain areas or not, we’d be inclined to think that the folks behind this simple adaptation of a classic concept are really raking in the dough!
