HSV Again Wants To Build The Fastest Truck In The World

The official tuner of Holden, HSV, possess the Guinness World Record for the fastest production pickup.
That is Maloo R8, a two door Commodore that at the back has a tray. Back in 2006 it hit a top speed of 168.66 mph, and destroyed the famous Dodge Ram SRT-10 that has reached 154.99 mph in 2004. There was a report from Carsguide that HSV wants to improve his own record with a new Maloo GTS model.

The power for this machine will come from GM’s LSA V8 that has the HSV’s GTS sedan and the Camaro ZL1. In them the supercharged V8 makes 580 hp and 545 lb-ft of torque that can reach 60 mph in just 5 seconds and with a top speed of 174 mph. For the Maloo there will be similar performance. Also, there are some other performance that the Maloo will take from the sedan and that includes launch control, AP Racing brakes, a high-strength differential, extra cooling system and forged aluminum calipers. For the production are slated 150 units, and they will take place before the discount of the Holden Commodore donor car in 2017.
